Are you available...so that God can show up in your work place?
First, let me clarify what I mean by availability. Availability is;
- Helping your employees & customers recognize their unique gifts and talents.
- Is praising your employees and customers in a genuine way.
- Tapping into the unutilized strengths of your employees, so they can work at their highest capacity.
So are you available so that God can show up in your work place? My immediate response is a resounding YES!!! Why? Because I want everything that I do to be in alignment with God’s desire and plan for my life, but it means being bold and setting aside the fact that some may be turned off, shut down or put off by this message.
Let me clear away some of the myths around this;
This is not about being “religious”.
This is not about “preaching” to people.
This is not about “judging” people.
This is about being available to the people in your workplace. This is about being the salt and the light. When you make yourself available to people…you begin to experience the blessings God promises for your business and life.
Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God. (Paraphrase Matthew 5:13-16 MSG)
Being available requires you to be in a relationship with your employees and customers. People don’t care what you know until they know how much you care. It is your example and your capacity to accept others for who they are, that begins to unleash the power of God in your work place. Are you available? What is the example you are setting in your workplace? I’d love to hear about it…send me your comments.
